FELTED WALL ART
I started with a piece of white pre-felt fabric and dyed it, using a Shibori-Clamp resist technique that involves binding the material into three-dimensional shapes. I then hand stitch and manipulate the dyed felt into abstract forms, rich in painstaking detail and saturated color. Some suggest garments - perhaps an obi or an evening gown - others might imply Baroque architecture, manicured gardens, or even evoke the atmosphere of a changing season. Each is unique and jewel-like, a window in an exquisite miniature world.
